1/19/06 update: Our
office computer is still having problems communicating with the online
reservation system, so if you placed a reservation, please be
patient...we are working with Direcway to resolve this! Park is still
drying out, and the grass has silt on it, so looking on the bright side,
the grass will be REALLY green this spring! At least for January
2006, we have blocked off the Snuggle Inns and RV sites from being
rented on a daily or weekly basis because we want to give the grounds a
time to dry out...no one wants to hang out in the mud! Also, we
had almost all propane tanks removed from the park, so only a few of the
units have propane heat...an important factor in winter! Photo is from
a few days ago, showing RV site #21:

| 1/5/06 update: Web cam went down yesterday morning and we have
not been able to reset it yet. In the meantime, the waters are
receding and we are cleaning up the stuff that floated onsite. The
dirt roads leading into Snug Harbor are very wet and mushy, so please do
NOT drive fast on those! Some of our neighbors had quite a bit
more water in their yards, and pushing water from the road to their
yards is not a nice thing to do. Best to stay away until the
waters are totally gone, probably by tomorrow, Friday. In the
meantime, as the wifi and office electric are not working, we can not
process reservation request. So any of you who have sent in online
requests will have to be patient...we can not process them until later
today or early tomorrow, as we're resetting electric and the computers
in the office.

roads still keep water off, but play gym is a moat
Looking towards Snuggle Inns, which are on higher ground. Boat
launch area is always the first area to take on water.

more photos of the high water posted 1/1/06
These photos came from
our web cam, so the quality is not great, but it does show what is going
on. Photos taken close to 3:00 PM today. We are not sustaining
serious damage so far, but it IS wet and muddy. Now there are huge
winds which make it cold. But we're doing OK...much better than
places like Rio Vista, Napa and Sacramento!
Water comes in RV site 10
Looking south from office to boat launch area
Club tent whipped by winds and doused by water
Our mid-storage area looks bad, but the water is not really that
high...roads still above water here. |
